Decus Character Design
This is a 3D print of a character I designed.
Book of Cards
Particle Board, Acrylic Paint, Mod Podge, Paper, Ink Wash
For this project, we were prompted to make a book. I decided that I wanted to create a sort of book that could be enjoyed by small children who are too young to read. These cards have painted pictures on them which can be placed in various ways to facilitate storytelling. These cards are mounted on particle board making them hard, and water-resistant thanks to the Mod Podge, making them perfect for small children.
Dominican Republic T-Shirt 2014
Cotton T-Shirt, Acrylic
This project was to design a t-shirt for Maximum Missions for their yearly missions trip. I first design the image in Illustrator, and then hand screen printed each one.
Paper, Cotton Thread, Laser Cutter
This is the wedding invitation I designed for my own wedding. I decided to laser-cut all the materials and to use a shadowbox-like effect so that no ink would have to be used. All of the design was made in Illustrator, then I calibrated and laser cut each one. They were then each hand-bound using cotton thread.
Horton Hears a Who
Pen, Bristol Paper
For this project, we were prompted to transform a drawing of a tool to a place through a series of magnifications, and to tell a story with a reveal at the end. I chose to use a pen as my tool, and to tell the story of squid in an inking machine that make the ink for the pen. Throughout the transformations, it appears that the squid are being shocked to get their ink, but the last panel reveals that they are being tickled.
Cotton Fabric, Acrylic
The prompt for this project was to create a bag, and for some part of it to have a screen printed pattern. I chose to make a backpack that can be adjusted in size vertically, and so that the flap cover can be interchanged so that the bag can really change and morph as the child gets older. The back itself is made of a natural, dense, dark-colored fabric so it will not damage or stain easily, and can be simply washed in the washer.
